How To Configure USB Gamepad To Work With Android OTG Enable Devices

By now we want to believe that you all know the meaning of OTG and what it does to your phone.

Well for the benefit of those who still don’t know, OTG simply stand for On The Go, and it is a phone feature that allows you use USB devices on your phone via connection with OTG cables.

Definitely not all android phones are OTG enabled!

With OTG enable phones you can access flash drives, use mouse, external keyboards, gamepads and host of other USB devices on the phone.

Now, where are the game lovers that will like to be playing their PES soccer games or other games on their android devices with gamepads?

You will agree with me that not all games go well by just tapping your android touchscreen.

Some games are best played and enjoyed with gamepads, for example yoursoccer games, and playing those games with touchscreen can truly lower the fun and excitement.

Now, you should understand that gamepad connected to android devices via OTG does not work in plug and play mode and will need some little configuration after connection to have it enabled for playing games.

To configure your USB gamepad to work with your OTG enabled android devices;

·     Connect the USB gamepad to the phone via the OTG cable

·     With your phone, go to Settings>>Control>>ControlMapping

·     Tap on each value that you see there

·     Use the gamepad to register inputs by responding to each value that you tapped above

That is it; you can now use the USB gamepad to play your favourite games on your android device.

Note alternatively on the settings menu you can just click on auto configure to get the gamepad configured automatically.
